Nothing has officially released the stable Android 15 update for its Phone 2a Plus, just weeks after the beta version became available. Staying true to its rollout schedule, Nothing continues to bring innovative features and improvements to its flagship devices with this update.
The Android 15/Nothing OS 3.0 update introduces a range of enhancements. Shared Widgets allow users to connect with friends and family through interactive home screen widgets, fostering a new way to stay connected. The lock screen receives a complete overhaul, with a new customization page, additional clock face styles, and expanded widget space, offering better personalization options.
The update also includes an AI-powered Smart Drawer that categorizes apps into folders automatically, keeping the app drawer organized and accessible. Users can pin their favorite apps for quicker access. Multitasking is enhanced with resizable pop-up views, drag-and-drop functionality, and the ability to open notifications directly in a pop-up view.
Design improvements include a redesigned Quick Settings panel, an updated widget library, and enhanced UI visuals in the Settings menu. New Dot animations for fingerprint unlocking and charging add a polished touch to the user experience.
The update further optimizes performance with AI-powered app prioritization, an auto-archive function to free up storage, and partial screen sharing for app-specific recordings. Additionally, the December Security Patch ensures the device stays secure.
The rollout began over the weekend, but not all users will receive the update simultaneously. Availability depends on location, and users can manually check for updates through Settings > System > System update.
With this release, Nothing continues to refine its software experience. The Nothing Phone 1 and CMF Phone 1 are expected to follow soon, bringing Android 15/Nothing OS 3.0 to even more users.
