A popular song from the much-awaited Tollywood blockbuster ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule,’ starring Allu Arjun, has been removed from YouTube amid a brewing controversy. The track, titled “Dammante Patukora,” was uploaded by T-Series on December 24 but was swiftly taken down due to backlash linked to its content.
The song, though not part of the film's official soundtrack, had gained widespread popularity among fans after the movie's release. Composed by Devi Sri Prasad, the track was inspired by a pivotal scene in the film. In the scene, Fahadh Faasil’s character, Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat, confronts Allu Arjun’s character, Pushpa Raj, with the provocative line: “If you dare, catch me Shekhawat; if you do, I’ll leave the syndicate.” This dialogue was creatively reimagined into a satirical remix, making it a favorite among fans.
However, the song’s satirical take on the police sparked controversy. According to Indian media reports, the track’s removal was connected to the ongoing Bhagdhar cinema case. Social media reactions were divided; while some viewers found the song’s humor appealing, others criticized its timing, particularly in light of Allu Arjun’s reported legal challenges involving state authorities and law enforcement.
The backlash intensified online, prompting T-Series to act swiftly. The company decided to delete the song from YouTube and other platforms to avoid further inflaming tensions. Despite this, the song continues to be a hot topic among fans, with discussions about its sudden removal dominating social media platforms.
‘Pushpa 2: The Rule,’ directed by Sukumar, is one of the most anticipated films in Indian cinema, building on the success of its predecessor. The controversy surrounding “Dammante Patukora” has only added to the buzz around the film, though it also highlights the sensitivity required in balancing creative expression with public sentiment.
As debates over the song’s removal persist, it remains to be seen how the controversy will impact the film’s overall reception. Fans of Allu Arjun and the Pushpa franchise eagerly await further updates, hoping the incident doesn’t overshadow the much-anticipated release.
